Pacifica Cohousing is one way in which over 40 households will actively become change makers within our community. Situated on eight quiet acres, this proposed community of 46 homes will be divided into two neighborhoods.
Every aspect of the community will be tested against four principles of sustainable design: Community, Diversity, Sustainability, and Affordability.
Reclaiming a sense of community and contributing to smart stewardship of the land may seem out of reach with today's rapid pace of development. Fractured community life, suburban sprawl and limited transportation models can make alternatives for a healthy way of life appear unavailable to most families. However, some people are working together to create a better way.
Through cohousing, people work together to create living spaces that offer privacy and community while retaining the values of old-fashioned neighborhoods - independence, safety, mutual concern and responsibility.
